Sonic Legacy

Introduction: Sonic Legacy is a ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive by Gamma V. Rather than combining several classic Sonic games into one enormous campaign, it is a relatively straightforward Sonic 2 modification focused on editing level layouts, palettes, music, and selected graphics.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The basic Sonic 2 engine and gameplay remain intact. Every level is edited to some degree, although heavily scripted stages received fewer changes. The hack concentrates on new layouts and presentation instead of adding an expanded roster or importing large systems from later games.

Key Features:

• Edited layouts throughout the Sonic 2 campaign.
• Custom music with per-act song changes.
• New colors, selected art edits, and changes to six of the seven Special Stages.

Sonic Legacy is best described as a level, palette, and music hack of Sonic 2, not a compilation of Sonic 1, Sonic CD, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles content.
