Sonic NES Games

Sonic was never officially released for the Nintendo Entertainment System during the original Sega–Nintendo console rivalry. However, unofficial developers and bootleg publishers produced several games that attempted to bring Sonic-style gameplay to Nintendo's 8-bit hardware.

The best-known example is Somari, an unauthorized game that combines Mario with levels and mechanics inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog. These releases are better viewed as unusual pieces of bootleg game history than official entries in the Sonic series.
