Sonic 2 Kaizo

Introduction: Kaizo Sonic 2 is an extremely difficult Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ROM-hacking project in the Kaizo Sonic series by KaikeKTH. The version shown at the 2019 Sonic Hacking Contest was a demo rather than a completed redesign of every Sonic 2 zone.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack keeps Sonic 2's familiar movement foundation, including the Spin Dash, but builds stages around intentionally punishing traps, precise jumps, monitor tricks, and route memorization. Its design follows the "kaizo" philosophy of demanding repeated attempts and detailed knowledge of hazards.
