Sonic 2 Aluminum Edition

Introduction: Sonic 2: Aluminum Edition is a ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive by Dr. Eggfan. Rather than replacing the game with an entirely new campaign, it rearranges and retouches Sonic 2 with altered graphics, sprites, zone names, and progression.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The underlying game remains Sonic 2, so running, rolling, jumping, and the Spin Dash retain the familiar Genesis feel. The hack does not rely on major new ASM mechanics; its identity comes mainly from presentation changes and rearrangement of existing content.

Key Features:

• New sprites for Sonic and Tails.
• Renamed zones and a rearranged zone order.
• Various graphical, sound, and presentation tweaks applied to the original Sonic 2 content.

Aluminum Edition is best described as a rearranged and cosmetically modified Sonic 2 rather than a metallic-color difficulty overhaul with completely redesigned enemy placement.
