Sonic 2 Dimps

Introduction: Sonic 2 Dimps Edition is a fan-made ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by Spanner and collaborators. The project deliberately imagines what Sonic 2 might feel like if it had been designed in the style associated with Dimps' later 2D Sonic games, especially the then-upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Gameplay & Mechanics: Sonic is the only playable character in the hack. Tails was removed because his VRAM space was repurposed for new dash-pad graphics. The game adds a Homing Attack, frequent speed boosters, forced uncurling after hitting springs or enemies, and several physics changes intended to parody or imitate design choices associated with later Dimps-developed Sonic games.
