Sonic The Lost Land

Introduction: Sonic: The Lost Land is a ROM hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive by Shadow Fire. The project consists of seven levels and uses extensive palette, music, graphics, and gameplay changes to give Sonic 1 a distinct new identity.

Gameplay & Mechanics: Sonic remains the central playable character. The hack uses the Sonic 1 engine but adds new behavior and stage design, including a special acceleration ability. Each act can load its own palette and music, allowing the presentation to change more dramatically than in the original game.

Key Features:

• Seven levels built as a new Sonic 1 adventure.
• Dynamic palette and music systems that can change between acts.
• A Special Stage realm containing six Chaos Emeralds, reached through a Giant Ring after finishing a level with at least 50 Rings.

The Lost Land is a Sonic 1 hack, not a Sonic 3 & Knuckles campaign with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.
