Sonic and Tails: Double Trouble

Introduction: Sonic and Tails: Double Trouble is a complete ROM hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive, created by FFuser. It adds Tails as a playable character, redesigns the game's stages, ports music from other Sega titles, and introduces new gameplay features while retaining Sonic 1 as its technical base.

Gameplay & Mechanics: Sonic and Tails are selectable playable characters rather than a permanent Sonic-and-Tails team from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Tails has a custom flight system created specifically for the hack, including different behavior underwater. The hack also adds new moves, revised stage layouts, special monitors, and in some areas double boss encounters.
