Introduction: Sonic Erazor is a ROM hack of the 1994 Sega Genesis game Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It is a complete conversion that replaces all the original zones with new stages, featuring a custom visual style with original level tilesets, background art, and enemy sprites. The game follows Sonic's journey through themed zones like a futuristic city and a volcanic area, all built upon the original game's engine.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack retains the core physics and mechanics of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. You control Sonic, who handles with the same momentum based movement, slope detection, and jump arcs as the original. He has access to the Insta Shield and elemental shields from the base game. The level layouts are entirely new, designed to challenge players familiar with the original's flow, often featuring more complex platforming and enemy placement. The core mechanics of collecting Chaos Emeralds and achieving a Super transformation remain intact.
