Sonic 2 Delta

Introduction: Sonic 2 Delta is a long-running series of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ROM hacks by Esrael Neto. Its main purpose is to restore and reconstruct levels, graphics, music, enemies, and ideas that were removed or changed during Sonic 2's development, using prototype material and surviving information about early versions of the game.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The project remains fundamentally Sonic 2, with its familiar momentum, rolling, jumping, and Spin Dash mechanics. Different versions of Sonic 2 Delta have incorporated prototype and cut content such as Dust Hill, Hidden Palace, Wood Zone, Winter Hill, and other development-era material. The focus is preservation and reconstruction rather than adding later-series moves such as the Insta-Shield or Super Peel Out.
