About This Game
Introduction: "Silver Sonic The Revenge" is a ROM hack of the 1992 game "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" for the Sega Genesis. It is not an official or bootleg title. The hack replaces Sonic with the robotic Silver Sonic as the player character and features a new, darker visual palette across its zones, which are modified versions of the original Sonic 2 stages like Emerald Hill and Chemical Plant.
Gameplay & Mechanics: You control Silver Sonic, who handles identically to Sonic from the base game. This means the physics are the classic momentum based engine, with rolling down slopes to gain speed and precise platforming. Silver Sonic retains the Spin Dash move. He does not have any new abilities like a shield or a peel out. The core mechanics and level layouts are fundamentally unchanged from Sonic 2, offering the same high speed platforming flow but with a different protagonist sprite and color scheme.
