Metal Sonic 2

Introduction: Metal Sonic 2, also known as Metal Sonic in Sonic 2 or Metal Sonic the Hedgehog 2, is a fan-made character hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive by Lone Devil. Its defining change is replacing Sonic with Metal Sonic as the playable character.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack uses Sonic 2 as its gameplay base, so the familiar stage structure, momentum physics, rolling, jumping, and other Sonic 2 systems remain central. The available documentation identifies Metal Sonic as the playable character but does not support describing this particular hack as a full level overhaul with a unique charge-dash and hover system.

Key Features:

• Metal Sonic replaces Sonic as the playable character.
• Based on the original Sonic the Hedgehog 2 engine and campaign.
• Custom Metal Sonic graphics and presentation provide the main identity of the modification.

This entry should be treated primarily as a Metal Sonic character conversion for Sonic 2 rather than confused with larger projects such as Metal Sonic Rebooted or Metal Sonic Hyperdrive.
