The setting involves progressing through reimagined versions of familiar zones.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The gameplay uses the original Sonic 3 & Knuckles engine, preserving its precise, momentum based physics. Sonic is the sole playable character, utilizing his standard abilities from that game: the Spin Dash, Insta Shield, and the ability to transform into Super Sonic with the Chaos Emeralds. The core mechanics of running, jumping, and rolling feel authentic to the original. The primary changes are found in the level design, which features altered enemy placement, new platforming challenges, and different item locations to create a fresh experience for veteran players.
