Introduction: Sonic Scene Creator v2 is an unofficial, fan-made Flash game, not a ROM hack of a classic Genesis/Mega Drive title. It is a level and animation editor built within Adobe Flash, allowing users to construct custom scenes using sprites and assets primarily from Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The setting is whatever the user designs, placing objects and characters against backgrounds imported from official Zones.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The "gameplay" is creative construction, not traditional platforming. Users control an editor cursor to place tiles, sprites, and characters. Playable character sprites like Sonic and Tails can be placed and given simple, pre-programmed animations (like running or spinning), but the physics engine is non-interactive; characters do not run through a level with momentum or collision. Abilities are visual only, triggered by the user, not executed through player input. The control is entirely menu and cursor-based.
