Sonic Classic Heroes

Introduction: Sonic Classic Heroes is a collaborative ROM hack by flamewing and ColinC10 built on a heavily modified Sonic the Hedgehog 2 engine. It combines the complete campaigns of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 into a single ROM and adds a team system inspired by Sonic Heroes.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The player can control up to three characters at once and switch the lead character during play. Team Sonic consists of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, while later versions also include Team Chaotix with Espio, Charmy, and Vector. Each character contributes different movement abilities, and the modified engine incorporates features inspired by Sonic 3 & Knuckles, including elemental shields and character-specific mechanics.

Sonic Classic Heroes does not include the campaigns of Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles; its core level set comes from Sonic 1 and Sonic 2.
