Amy Rose in Sonic 1

Introduction: Amy Rose in Sonic 1 is a ROM hack of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive that makes Amy Rose the playable character. Rather than being only a sprite replacement, well-known releases of the project give Amy her own movement and attack behavior while retaining the Sonic 1 stages as the foundation.

Gameplay & Mechanics: Amy uses a custom moveset rather than controlling exactly like Sonic. Depending on the revision, her abilities include hammer-based attacks and movement changes designed around her character. The original Sonic 1 stage geometry, enemies, Rings, and overall progression remain recognizable, but Amy's mechanics change how many obstacles are approached.
